Papa Tom is a disciple of the blues, steeped in the early Mississippi Delta and Texas stylings of Charles Brown, Pinetop Perkins, and Clarence Gatemouth Brown, and immersed in the creole sounds of New Orleans masters Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint and The Meters. Along with his band, The Blues Nightmares, Papa Tom serves up a gumbo of traditional Texas, Delta, Creole, and Chicago blues and jazz with contemporary topics, pushing the envelope on classic blues as it applies it to the stresses of life in the 21st century.
